A Little History:
Inspiration comes to you from many different forms. My husband and I were camping in Arches National Park in southern Utah. As we entered the park there were 3 tall rock formations probably each standing about 30 feet high. They caught my eye and I wanted to stop to look at them, but we were with other people and of course we had to get to out camping sight. That was the goal, not stopping to take pictures of rocks!!
All during the trip my mind kept returning to the “Three Sisters” as I had named them. Finally at the end of the trip, my dear husband said we could go back and get a picture of them. This was quite wonderful because they were totally in the opposite direction of which we were headed.
Anyway, got to the site and I jumped out of my car with my camera and ran up to the plaque and it read “The Three Gossips”. I turned to my husband and immediately said, “Are these dolls or what”!
When I got home I decided that I wanted the dolls to be somewhat Renaissance-like. I did some research on that time period for clothing and customs. The most amazing discovery was that during that period of time “a Gossip” was known as your dearest friend or your very close confidant! Perfect…and so the Three Gossips were created.
